Terming his arrest as the beginning of the “second freedom struggle”, veteran activist Anna Hazare gave a call to the people to participate in a ‘jail bharo’ program. Anna Hazare was arrested from his house on Tuesday morning as a preventive measure to disrupt his plans to fast unto death. The 70 year old veteran launched an all out fight against Manmohan Singh’s UPA Govt. for its massive scandals and corruption allegations.
“My dear countrymen, second freedom struggle has begun and now I have also been arrested.But will this movement be stopped by my arrest? No. Not at all. Dont let it Happen.” said the Gandhian.
Arun Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi were also taken into preventive custody along with Anna Hazare. The Police Department has termed the arrests as a “preventive measure to protect law and order situation in the capital.”
The crackdown on team Anna has evoked sharp criticism from all political parties in the country.
