Pro-Jagan Congress MLAs who resigned from the post are planning to launch a ‘bus yatra’ to protest against the inclusion of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s name in the CBI’s FIR in a disproportionate assets case filed against his son Jaganmohan Reddy.
After paying tributes at YSR Samadhi in Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on Tuesday, the 26 legislators of the ruling party have decided to conduct bus yatra across the state to create awareness among people over humiliation being meted out to YSR and his family members.
Alleging that the Congress Government was trying to malign the image of late Chief Minister, MLA Konda Surekha said the MLAs have decided to launch `bus yatra’ across the state to highlight the injustice being meted out to YSR family. “We will tell people how the Congress party is trying to tarnish the image of the former chief minister though it was because of his efforts that the party came to power in 2004 and 2009,” Surekha said.
She said the MLAs will also meet Governor ESL Narasimhan to press for acceptance of their resignations, in case Speaker Nadendla Manohar rejects them.
