The first look of Karthi’s next film Shakuni was launched earlier today in Hyderabad. The film is being simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu. Shankar Dayal is directing the film and Pranitha Subhash is playing the lead role. Gnanavel Raja is producing the film on Studio Green banner. V V Vinayak, D Ramanaidu, BVSN Prasad and Gemini Kiran graced the event.
Speaking at the event, Shankar Dayal said that Shakuni is a political satire. “The film follows the trail of a guy who enters politics and the people he meets throughout his journey,” he said. V V Vinayak revealed that he was surprised when he saw that the film was titled as Shakuni. “Usually, heroes are reluctant to have such titles. I appreciate Karthi and Gnanavel Raja for taking such risks. Shankar Dayal worked with me during Dil and it’s good to see that he has finally turned director after so many years,” V V Vinayak added.
Karthi stated that the film has several twists and turns. “I have donned several get ups in the film and you’ll see me in a new avatar every 20 mins. For the first time in my career, I have worked with senior actors like Radhika and Kota Srinivasa Rao. I have learnt a lot from them. I also thank the people of Andhra Pradesh for encouraging me,” he said.
GV Prakash has composed the music of this film. The film is expected to hit the screens later this year in both Telugu and Tamil on the same date.
